FFT: Fast Fourier Transform

The FFT module calculates fast fourier transform of the input signal.

The FFT module supports the graphical interface as explained below.

Graphical Interface

To use this module, connect a signal whose frequency response is required to the input. The frequency response is available at the Mag port.

Ports

In (Signal In)

Any time domain signal can be connected as input.

Mag (Magnitude Out)

The magnitude of frequency response of the input signal is available at this port

Phase (Phase Out)

The phase of frequency response of the input signal is available at this port

Window Type [Dropbox]

Select the desired signal processing window. The default is Rectangular. The windows let you get rid of the undesired energy in the sidebands and show you the real spectrum.

Following windows are available:

  • Rectangular
  • Bartlett Hann
  • Bartlett
  • Blackman
  • Blackman Harris
  • Bohman
  • Flattop
  • Hamming
  • Hanning
  • Triangular
  • Welch

Magnitude Out [Dropbox]

The magnitude out dropbox allows you to select between linear or logarithmic frequency response.

Log Floor (dB) [Textbox]

The log floor setting is applicable only when logarithmic frequency response is selected. This setting allows you to enter the minimum value the output frequency response can have.
